This is a real "Zebra Crossing"! A group of Burchell's zebra ( Equus burchelli ), with a foal in the middle of the picture, energetically crossing a dirt road in Kruger. Zebra are grazers and prefer long grass, generally from 22 - 11 centimetres in height. Each zebra's stripes are unique to that individual, like fingerprints in humans. The Burchell's zebra has black, white and brown "shadow" stripes.
