The White Rhinoceros ( Ceratotherium simum ) is a grazer, unlike the Black Rhinoceros which is a browser. The White Rhino is also known as the Square-lipped Rhinoceros and the Black as the Hook-lipped. A single calf is born, after a gestation period of 16 months, at any time of the year. The white rhino calf runs in front of the cow, being guided by gentle taps of her horn.
