A Lioness ( Panthera leo ) strolling along one of the main routes in the KNP. All animals regularly move along the road network, only moving off due to vehicle "pressure". lions live in prides of up to 12 with lionesses forming the nucleus of the society. The females leave the prides to give birth, of up to 6 cubs, at any time of the year.
