The distintive shape of the Hamerkop's ( Scopus umbretta ) head gives rise to its name which literally means " hammerhead". The Hamerkop is found at most inland water where it primarily feeds on frogs, fish and invertebrates. The nest is a huge mass of reeds, sticks, weeds and debris which may be cooperatively built by 4 or more birds.
